The use of a Seabox module complete with ultrafiltration, Reverse Osmosis (RO) membranes or nanofiltration enable low salinity and sulphate removal and make it possible to tailor the raw seawater qualities matched to reservoir requirements for maximum recovery. Our robust subsea storage solutions are available for oil, chemicals, and produced water which reduces topside storage systems and weight allowing fluids to be stored subsea e.g. MEG thereby reducing umbilical complexity and cost. Our award winning SAPL allows pig launching from subsea and eliminates the requirement for a pigging loop simplifying subsea architecture while not compromising on the ability to maintain flow assurance. The subsea factory is fast becoming reality with today’s technology.

The common practice of oil and gas exploration is mainly based on the integrated study of three disciplines, namely geology, geophysics and geochemistry, or simply 3G exploration. The average technical success rate (TSR) of 3G exploration worldwide remains in the range of 30-40%, while the average commercial success rate (CSR) is often as low as half of TSR. The main cause of the low TSR and CSR lies in the intrinsic limitations of seismic and the boundary of physics with other disciplines.

Seismic technology is ideal for structural and facies mapping. However, it often struggles to reliably discriminate the geochemical properties of the reservoir fluids, for example to differentiate oil from water, CO2 from CH4, etc. From time to time, the industry used to have its hope on surface geochemical technologies to provide the critical puzzle piece to solve the problem. However, most of these long-term efforts failed eventually and left a strong scepticism on the effectiveness of surface geochemical technologies on prospect evaluation in the industry. The latest development of the geomicrobial hydrocarbon detection (GMHD) technology provides the optimum solution to complement the limitations of seismic resulting in significant improvement in exploration success rates (TSR and CSR).

Proper integration of the new discipline, geomicrobiology, with geology, geophysics and geochemistry, so-called 4G exploration is revolutionary and will initiate a paradigm shift in oil and gas exploration. Comparing to 3G, the new paradigm of 4G is characteristic of much higher exploration success rate of 70-80%, higher efficiency, and lower costs. In the past decade, the effectiveness of GMHD and 4G exploration has been successfully validated in 97 frontier explorations, both onshore and offshore, for NOCs and IOCs worldwide.
