Airbus DS Airborne Solutions GmbH (ADAS) is a 100% subsidiary of Airbus Defence and Space. Based in Bremen/Germany, the company is responsible for services with Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS). Airbus Defence and Space is a division of the Airbus Group and is the leading defence and space company in Europe and the second largest space company in the world. Business activities include aerospace, military aircraft and associated systems and services.
As part of its Lease-Operate-Maintain (LOM) capabilities, ADAS is supporting the in-theatre MALE class UAS operations of the German Armed Forces in Afghanistan since 2010 and Mali since 2016, both with the Heron 1 system. Until today more than 50,000 operational flight hours have been accumulated in more than 4,000 missions. In addition, ADAS has achieved all flights with zero-failure automatic take-off and landing and provided its customer with 24/7 availability and over 98% availability of the system.
ADAS now expands its very successful UAS operational services also to civil markets of which the Oil & Gas industry is one of them.
