Director of Remote Operations for Europe & Africa Fugro

Alastair’s journey in the geo-data industry began during his time at the University of Glasgow, where he graduated as a Bachelor of Science in Geographic Information and Mapping Sciences. Shortly after, he began work as a land surveyor for two years before his move to Fugro took him all the way to the other side of the world, where he worked as a Hydrographic Surveyor in Perth, Australia. Since moving back to the UK in 2010, Alastair has worked in a variety of positions on and offshore and in 2019 was made Fugro’s Director Remote Operations Europe Africa, making him responsible for all remote operations throughout the Europe Africa region. As a member of the Chartered Institute of Civil Engineering Surveyors, Alastair is committed to driving innovation in the field and pushing Fugro to the forefront of remote operations.
