Avril Burrell holds a Master of Science degree in Integrated Petroleum Geoscience from the University of Aberdeen, graduating in 2012. In addition, she also earned a Bachelor of Science degree, with Honours, in Earth Science which was awarded by the University of Glasgow in 2011.
Joining PGS in 2012, Avril has spent 10 years gaining experience in a wide range of geological settings including specialising in salt interpretation for velocity model building in the Gulf of Mexico and offshore West Africa. She has significant exposure to large 2D and 3D MultiClient projects used for frontier exploration and in mature producing basins. Since 2019, Avril has been the technical G&G lead in the Transform Margin region. Her primary focus has been to identify and develop new opportunities, working with stakeholders to build and promote the PGS data library across the Gulf of Guinea.
