Senior Vice President Sasol

Gilbert is a Petroleum Engineer with 26 years’ experience in the upstream oil and gas sector in the United States (US) Gulf of Mexico, the Philippines, Nigeria, Egypt, Gabon, Ghana, Ivory Coast and Guinee. 

Prior to joining SASOL as its Senior Vice President for Exploration and Production International, Gilbert worked in various executive managerial and technical capacities for Tropic Energy Partners, Tullow Oil, Addax Petroleum Services and Shell International Exploration and Production Company.

Gilbert holds a PhD in Computational Fluid Dynamics from Mississippi State University (USA), as well as an MBA in Finance and Management from Tulane University in New Orleans (USA). He also has a Masters in Petroleum Engineering and a Bachelor of Science degree in Oil and Gas Drilling and Production Engineering from the University of Mining and Geology (Sofia, Bulgaria). 

Gilbert is an investor and an author with a US patent, numerous publications in peer reviewed journals in his field and presentations at international conferences around the world.
