Jean-Philippe Adam is Portfolio Manager at Eliis, a software company specialized in seismic interpretation, which develops the software PaleoScan™. He is in charge of clients (new and existing) in Europe/Middle  East/ Russia  in Ellis. Prior, he was a member of Eliis Geoscience team, he provided support, trainings and services for the PaleoScan™ customers. His past experience has included employment as QC geophysicist and senior QC geophysicist for land acquisition at CGG. He holds a MSc in Geophysics (EOST, Strasbourg).

It helps to attain better time and resolution performances in the interpretation and above all a better comprehension of geology: faster, sharper, smarter.

The relative geological time model comes from a comprehensive seismic interpretation method, which can be summarized as a two-step workflow. During the first step, horizons are automatically tracked within the entire seismic volume to constrain a grid and a relative age is assigned for each point. The seismic interpreter then checks the auto-picked horizons and refined them locally inside the grid until an optimum solution is obtained. It provides a new way to perform a strata slicing into the seismic volume even in regions where classical techniques are limited. When applying this workflow combined with spectral decomposition, unseen high resolution geological events can be revealed.
