Zubin Bamji

Program Manager, Global Gas Flaring Reduction Partnership World Bank

Zubin Bamji is the Program Manager for the World Bank’s Global Gas Flaring Reduction Partnership (GGFR), a coalition of oil-producing countries, companies, and international organizations working to end routine gas flaring at oil production sites across the world. In this role he is responsible for managing a team focused on advising governments to develop institutions, regulations, policies, infrastructure, and markets for associated gas utilization or conservation; raising awareness and increasing commitments to end routine flaring; monitoring global flaring; and facilitating flaring reduction projects.

Prior to the World Bank, Bamji was a Senior Advisor for the U.S. Department of Commerce, working on regulatory, environmental, and sustainability issues for NOAA (National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration), the agency responsible for regulating fisheries, coastal and marine resources and ecosystems. He has also served as Director of Marketing & Membership for the Security Industry Association and Director of Brand Management & Communications for NPR. Bamji began his career as an Account Supervisor for Ogilvy & Mather Worldwide. He holds undergraduate and graduate degrees in economics, management, and marketing.
