Equinor is an international energy company present in more than 30 countries worldwide with a daily production of approximately 2.1 million barrels of oil equivalent. Founded in 1972 under the name Statoil, we changed our name to Equinor in 2018 - going from being a pure oil and gas company to become a broad energy major. Our headquarters are in Stavanger, Norway, and we have over 20,000 employees. 

We are the leading operator on the Norwegian continental shelf and have substantial international activities. We are engaged in exploration, development and production of oil and gas, and a growing force in renewable wind and solar power. We sell crude oil and are a major supplier of natural gas, with activities in processing, refining, and trading. On the African continent Equinor has producing assets in Angola, Nigeria, Algeria and Libya in addition to maturing gas discoveries in Tanzania and having explorations licences in South Africa.
