National Oil Corporation of Kenya
The National Oil Corporation of Kenya (NOC-K) is one of the few African National Oil Companies involved in Upstream and downstream aspects of the petroleum supply chain. NOC-K currently operates its exploration acreage in Block 14T. Significant exploration work has been done in the Block, in conjunction with our partner JOGMEC, including geological survey, geochemical sampling and analysis, 2D Seismic survey, Gravity and Magnetics, and Magnetotellurics survey. National Oil hosts the National Data Centre and core storage facility, a repository for all exploration data in Kenya, including core and cutting samples, exploration maps, and geological and geophysical reports from all exploration blocks in the country. Moreover, NOC-K owns and operates the national geochemical and petrophysical laboratory capable of conducting the full suite of geochemical and geological core analyses in addition to routine and special core analyses. The Corporation is now working towards upgrading the laboratory to a world-class facility through the construction of a modern laboratory, equipment upgrade, and training of expertise to enhance its competitiveness in the provision of consultancy services all over Africa. NOC-K operates a vibrant downstream business with an active retail network of 115 stations spread throughout Kenya and controls over 8% of the retail market share in Kenya. In the downstream section, the Corporation trades under the brand name ‘National Oil’ with the ‘Supa’ branded range of products. The Corporation also serves a cross-section of resellers and industrial and government businesses. National Oil’s product range includes the full range of automotive fuels, its own brand of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), and lubricants branded SupaGas and SupaLube, respectively. The Corporation is now exploring the aviation sector to provide Jet fuel.
