Eric is a Francophone and Lusophone Africa risk specialist, and has worked and lived in several countries in the region including Côte d’Ivoire, Angola, South Africa, Senegal and Congo Brazzaville.
Within Maplecroft’s Risk Insight team, Eric helps clients with ESG+P risk identification and mitigation to support their strategic commercial goals. He supports a wide range of Maplecroft’s client base across metals and mining, oil and gas, energy and utilities, institutional investment and banking, agroindustry, infrastructure and ICT.
Notable projects that Eric has led on include:
• A holistic stakeholder mapping ahead of a brownfield mining asset takeover in Ghana and Côte d’Ivoire.
• An ESG due diligence exercise for a USD1 billion oil and gas asset portfolio acquisition across seven African jurisdictions.
• A targeted country risk profile for an investor considering financing a utility-scale solar power project in the Sahel.
• A benchmarking exercise to evaluate a client’s risk exposure as they explored a potential joint venture with a state-owned entity.
Eric holds an International Management degree from the University of Bath. He has a keen interest in the intersection between data, statistics and above-ground risks.
