Mohammed has c.15 years experience in project finance & corporate finance advisory, capital restructuring, mergers & acquisitions and financings in Emerging Markets / Sub-Saharan Africa with core focus and expertise in the Aviation, Oil & Gas, Metals & Mining, Heavy Industry, Transport, Consumer & Financial Institutions sectors.
Prior to joining Africa Finance Corporation, Mohammed began his career at Morgan Stanley where he spent 5 years working in the M&A team covering clients in Emerging Markets / Sub-Saharan Africa across the aforementioned sectors.
Following his experience at Morgan Stanley, Mohammed spent 4 years in Renaissance Capital, where he continued to advise clients and execute M&A and capital market transactions predominantly in Sub-Saharan Africa.
Over the period of his career, Mohammed has advised and worked on transactions with a cumulative value of over $20 Bn.
Recently nominated as 10th in the top 100 African Economic Leaders of Tomorrow under 40 by the Choiseul Institute, Mohammed serves as a strategic adviser to multiple platforms and sits on various boards.
In addition to his activities in the Corporate Finance world, Mohammed has served and continues to serve as a key mentor to numerous university students looking to pursue a career in corporate finance, investment banking and other fields.
Out of this passion of mentorship, Mohammed founded the Dudden Hill Foundation (www.duddenhill.org) which is a non-profit organization focused on young Africans, with the objective of equipping, developing and training young Africans with real life skills required to succeed in the entrepreneurship space and corporate space. The Dudden Hill Foundation also works with young Africans in providing them with the opportunity to work in first class organizations across through the provision of a robust and well-structured training and internship program funded wholly by the Foundation.
Since commencement of operations in April 2021, Dudden Hill Foundation has trained over 2,000 young Africans through our training programs and have sponsored 7 students to serve as interns in blue chip corporations such as KPMG Nigeria, Elektron Energy and The New Practice Law Firm.
The discussion around the move away from oil and gas projects by international investment funds and banks, has been dominating conversations for the last few years.
