Africa Established Areas Exploration Manager ExxonMobil

Richard Barke joined ExxonMobil in 2004 after completing a PhD in Geology from the University of Oxford, United Kingdom. During his 18 year career, Richard has had several technical and management roles across ExxonMobil in exploration, production and technology in UK and the U.S.

Richard currently serves as Exploration Manager for Africa Established Areas within the ExxonMobil Upstream Company and is responsible for managing the Corporation’s exploration acreage in-and-around established assets and for evaluating new opportunities across the African continent.

Based in ExxonMobil’s Houston Campus, Richard has held positions Upstream Geophysics Manager, Geoscience Manager for Angola and Tanzania Developments and Planning Manager for the Upstream Research Company. Prior positions at ExxonMobil included roles in technology development, exploration, new business development and production in the UK North Sea.
