ExploSpot Systems (Pty) Ltd was founded in 1994 to develop technology to enhance the survivability of military vehicles. The first product was an automatic fire and explosion suppression system (AFESS) that is until today installed in various military vehicles. The technology proved so effective in the military field, that the Mine Health and Safety Council of South Africa investigated the use of these systems in mining operations. Since that time the Explospot AFESS have been in use in both military and mining operations to protect personnel, machinery and operations.
